You  may have  seen pictures of  the  excitement our students felt at the  awards ceremony yesterday at the Northeast Regionals held at ERAU.  That ended a very long day of academic and laboratory testing,  and competing with machines they built.
Our team of  15 competed in 23 separate events covering a wide variety of  areas  of science and engineering.  We won more medals than  ever before and, equally important, we earned the right  to advance to the state tournament in March, held in Orlando at  the UCF main campus.
My co-coach, the indomitable Dawn Alves, and  I are very  proud of the dedication, originality, bravery, and skill these  great kids  demonstrated in preparation for this grueling event.  All  of them demonstrated the utmost collegiality and supported one another at all times.
Thanks also to Russ  Renfro, who volunteered to help judge one of the events.
We couldn’t have done this  without all the help we received from many other understanding  teachers and parents as well.
Truly a Team event.
Go Sharks!
